Memorials were held this weekend for Amber Manthorne, the Port Alberni woman who went missing from her Great Central Lake home one year ago.
Vigils were held Friday at the Maritime Discovery Pier, and then a boat flotilla at Great Central on Saturday.
Manthorne was reported missing on July 8th last year after saying she was going to meet Justin Hall, a man she had been in a troubled relationship with.
Her Jeep was found in Cassidy the next day, and Hall was arrested, questioned and released.
On Friday, Manthorne’s friends revealed that Hall had died earlier that week, although no details were given.
Manthorne has yet to be found.
