The Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League announced their 2024-2025 schedule this week. The Port Alberni Bombers open their season by visiting the Nanaimo Buccaneers on September 5th. They host the Lake Cowichan Kraken for their Home Opener on September 14th.
At the U20 Provincial Fastball Championships over the weekend, the Alberni Valley Blazers earned a silver medal. They rallied late to defeat the Vernon Vortex in the bronze medal game, before falling to undefeated Chilliwack in the title game.
The BCHL announced their 2024-2045 schedule yesterday. For just the second time in their franchise history, and the first time since 2011-2012, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs will open their season on HOME ICE, as they host the Nanaimo Clippers on September 20th and the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on September 21st.
