The Bulldogs went 1 and 1 over the weekend. They dropped a 5-2 decision in Nanaimo on Friday night. Jacob Terpstra and Wyatt Davis scored. They earned a 7-4 win at home over the Powell River Kings on Saturday night. Jacob Terpstra scored four times while Ben Buckley, Grayson Salmon and Dryden Kuramoto also scored. The Bulldogs visit the Vernon Vipers on Friday and the Penticton Vees on Saturday.
The Port Alberni Bombers ended their regular season on a six game winning streak after a 3-0 win on the road over the Lake Cowichan Kraken Friday night. Leim Smith, Kai Verbrugge, and Kenneth Boychuck scored while Tom Forrest earned first star with the shut out in net.
The Bombers announced the schedule for their best of seven first round series against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. They host game one tonight at 7:00pm, and game three Sunday night at 6:00pm. Game two goes Friday night in Comox at 7:30, and game four is next Tuesday in Comox at 7:00pm.
If necessary, Game 5 is Thursday, March 6th in Port Alberni. Game six is scheduled for March 7th in Comox at 7:30 and if Game seven is needed, it would be at the Alberni Valley Multiplex on Sunday, March 9th at 6:00pm.
The ADSS Senior Girls Basketball team opens their Provincials appearance today, as they take on Vernon. Tip off is at 11:45.
Congrats to the ADSS Storm Grade 8 Girls Basketball team, who qualified for the Provincial championships next week in Chilliwack after a 26-10 win over Dover Bay in Nanaimo Friday afternoon.
They will head into the Rich Goulet Grade 8 Championships in Chilliwack Wednesday through Saturday.
