The Bulldogs went 1 and 2 over the weekend. They fell 3-1 in Chilliwack on Friday night – Cole Bishop had the lone marker. They responded with a 8-3 win Saturday night in Langley. Grayson Badger and Samuel Léonard scored twice, while Brenden Espenell, Jacob Terpstra, Ben Buckley and Mac Richardson also scored. Playing their third game in four days yesterday, the Bulldogs dropped a 6-4 decision on home ice to the Victoria Grizzlies. Samuel Léonard, Grayson Badger, Dryden Kuramoto and Brady McIsaac scored. The Bulldogs visit the Nanaimo Clippers on Friday night, and host the Powell River Kings on Saturday night.
The Port Alberni Bombers won a fourth straight game last night on home ice, 5-3 over the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. The Bombers scored twice on the power play, and three times while shorthanded. Sean Richards and Jack Barrett had power play goals, while Kai Verbrugge, Leim Smith and Sam Davidson scored while shorthanded. The Bombers sit just one point behind the Campbell River Storm for first place in the VIJHL’s North Division standings, and visit the Nanaimo Buccaneers tonight at 7:15.
The ADSS Senior Girls Basketball team punched their ticket to the Provincial Championships for the third time in over forty years by advancing to the Island finals Saturday. The tournament is held at the Langley Event Centre from February 25 to March 1st.
