The Bulldogs went 2 and 0 over the weekend. They won a fifth straight road game, 5-3 over the Clippers in Nanaimo on Friday night. Lenny Greenberg, Samuel Leonard, Grayson Badger, Zeke Nicholson scored, while Ryder Shea earned the win in net.
The Bulldogs won their final home game of 2024 Saturday night, 5-4 over the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Gianni DiVita, Dryden Kuramoto, Lenny Greenberg, Zeke Nicholson and Grayson Badger scored, and Colin Winn earned the victory in net.
The Bulldogs have two games left before their Christmas break, as they visit the Surrey Eagles on Friday night and the Coquitlam Express on Saturday night.
The Port Alberni Bombers dropped back to back games over the weekend. They lost 3-2 in overtime at home on Friday night to the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. Kash Nicklin and Leim Smith had the goals. The Bombers dropped a 3-2 decision Saturday on the road to the Oceanside Generals. Eliott Kuprash and Leim Smith had the goals.
The Bombers visit the Comox Valley Glacier Kings on Friday night, and host the Oceanside Generals on Saturday night, for their final games of 2024.
The VIJHL announced the rosters for their All Star and Prospects games, which which will be held in conjunction with the BC Hockey League All-Star and Prospect games in Salmon Arm, January 17-18, and the Port Alberni Bombers are well represented.

Alberni Wrestling Shines at SFU High School Elite Tournament
Alberni Wrestling had a strong showing at the Simon Fraser University High School Elite Tournament this past Sunday, competing against some of the best wrestlers from both BC and
Alberta.
The team earned valuable experience by facing top-tier opponents, and their results reflect solid performances.

The team’s strong finishes in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions demonstrate their competitive spirit and dedication, with several wrestlers placing top six in their weight classes. The
experience gained at this challenging event will certainly contribute to their development moving forward.
In a special moment during the event, Alberni Wrestling Alumni Bobby McKenzie was honored with a tribute, and his mother Richelle shared a heartfelt message with the crowd. Reflecting on
Bobby’s legacy, she spoke about the core values of wrestling: “Wrestling shows that true heart & hustle never stops, and it’s about always finding the positives from the negatives.” Her words
resonated deeply with the athletes, reinforcing the spirit of resilience and perseverance that defines the sport.
Wrestlers will continue to train throughout the rest of the year to prepare for a very busy January and February including hosting our very own renowned tournament, the 40th annual Alberni
Invite at ADSS on January 31 & February 1st, 2025.
Port Alberni Native Chase Nicklin picked up another podium finish this season competing for the Nexgen National Para Snowboard team as he finished third at the Landgraaf Europa Cup in the Netherlands. He began the season with a first place finish in Dubai last month.
