The Bulldogs won back to back games in Powell River over the weekend, to run their road winning streak to four straight. They defeated the Kings 4-1 on Friday night. Gianni DiVita, Grayson Badger, Cole Bishop and Brady McIsaac scored. They hammered the Kings 8-1 on Saturday night. Brady McIsaac and Massimiliano Monson scored twice while Grayson Badger, Kenyon McIsaac, Hudson Closson and Will Mitchell also scored. Ryder Shea earned the win in net both nights.
The Bulldogs have back to back home games this weekend. They host the Cowichan Valley Capitals Friday night, and the Chilliwack Chiefs for their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday night.
The Port Alberni Bombers ran their point streak to eleven straight games Saturday night, with a 7-2 win over the Lake Cowichan Kraken. The Bombers trailed 2-0 and scored seven unanswered goals. Sean Richards had a natural hat trick, Zach Spafford scored twice, while Sam Davidson and Jaxon Hinchey also scored while Tom Forrest earned the win in net.
The Bombers host the Nanaimo Buccaneers on Wednesday night.
The Port Alberni Black Sheep Rugby Club earned a 24-18 win on the road Saturday over James Bay.
Port Alberni Native Chase Nicklin topped the podium on Day 1 of Dubai’s Asia Cup last week. Competing as part of Canada’s Para Snoboard Team he finished in first place in the Bank Slalom event.
